Faculty & Staff Cellphone Plan


As an employee, you are eligible for special Faculty & Staff cellphone plans via the University of Toronto Bookstore in collaboration with Bell. These plans allow for significant savings, compared to typical consumer plans. These plans are available at all U of T campus bookstores.


Faculty & Staff Housing Loan Program


Bird in a treeOffered through U of T Financial Services, the purpose of the Faculty & Staff Housing Loan Program is to assist qualified members of faculty and staff to finance the purchase of a family home, by providing loans when required, in excess of a first mortgage (usually 80% of purchase price).

The financing is in the form of a demand loan from the CIBC’s main branch at Commerce Court West, Toronto, which is guaranteed by the University of Toronto. The guarantee is secured by a registered second mortgage (not greater than 15% of purchase price) on the property.

Please note: For the purpose of this program, the University’s bank of record is the CIBC Main Branch at Commerce Court West, Toronto.

Joint Membership Plan

The Joint Membership Plan offers a unique partnership of services and programs hosted at the St. George campus including the Athletic Centre, the Faculty Club and Hart House. The plan is offered by the Human Resources & Equity in order to expand opportunities for fellowship, fitness and enjoyment of campus life for all employees and pensioners. University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM):

Faculty and staff may choose from a joint membership plan which provides access to facilities on the St. George and Mississauga campuses. A reduced-rate joint membership to the UTM facilities only, called Plan B, is also available. Please contact Human Resources at UTM for more information.

University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC):

A reduced-rate joint membership to UTSC facilities, called Plan B, is also available. Contact Human Resources at UTSC for more information.


Supplemental Insurance Protection


Supplemental insurance protection, including critical illness, major accident, and child life/accident insurance – as an employee of U of T, you can save on other coverage which supplements your U of T plans, with preferred rates through the University of Toronto Affinity Partners.


TTC Metropass Program


TTC Subway PlatformDiscounted TTC Metropasses are available to staff and faculty.

To purchase a discounted TTC Metropass, staff and faculty will need to provide their TCard or plastic ‘swipeable’ library card. No other form of identification will be accepted.

Staff and faculty who do not have either a TCard or a plastic swipeable library card will need to obtain a TCard in order to purchase a discounted TTC Metropass. For information on the TCard and how to obtain one, please visit the TCard website.

U of T Bookstore


Bookstore - University of Toronto ScarboroughU of T staff and faculty members will receive a 10% discount at any U of T Bookstore location on all personal purchases of regular priced insignia products, clothing, bags, drink ware, toys, jewellery, and stationery.

Employees can also qualify for a 25% discount to stationery, gifts, and clothing. However, a corporate account needs to be set up and authorized beforehand from the U of T Bookstore website. Please note that ID is required each time an account sale is processed.

VIA Rail Canada Discount Fares


VIA Rail Canada, through an agreement with the Canadian Association of University Business Officers (CAUBO), offers a discount on most fares to University of Toronto employees.

WorkPerks® Discount Program


Dessert at Hart House - Close-UpThe WorkPerks® Discount Program is available for U of T appointed staff, faculty and librarians.

With WorkPerks®, you and your family can easily save $100 to $1000 a year using the discounts provided by brand-name stores and smaller shops around the GTA and nationwide.

There are currently over 1,200 vendors in the WorkPerks® program and new discounts are being added everyday. Using the WorkPerks® website or mobile apps you can save on everything from tickets and restaurants, to apparel and computers. All you need to do is sign up and show your WorkPerks discounts at the places where you already love to shop, eat or play.
